2013 Family Fall Fun Bucket List

Today is the first day of fall (my favorite season) and to celebrate I decided to make a Family Fun Fall Bucket List.  Fall is our busiest time of the year on the farm due to the many hours, days, weeks and really months of harvesting and fall field work, but we had so much fun working on our Family Fun Summer Bucket List I decided to make one for fall too!

  1. Go to a Pumpkin Patch
  2. Carve Pumpkins
  3. Go Trick-or-Treating
  4. Have a Halloween Play Date
  5. Jump into Leaves
  6. Tailgate
  7. Go to a Football Game
  8. Go on a Nature Walk at Beeds Lake
  9. Make a Tree of Thanks
  10. Have Family Dates (Mom & Dad, Mom & LP, Mom & MP, Dad & LP, Dad & MP)
What is on your Fall Bucket List?  What are some of your favorite things to do in the fall with your family?

    1. We've actually already accomplished a couple items. I've got to get as many done now before I'm in the field harvesting here in a couple of weeks.

  2. Your list sounds wonderful! I like the idea of individual dates with each little one. I'd like to hear more about making a tree of thanks.

We are really focused on pumpkins, Halloween, and hunting right now. I have to remind myself November and part of December are part of fall too.

    1. We're going to try to get the individual dates accomplished. Doesn't have to be anything extravagant, just some meaningful, purposeful time together.

The tree of thanks is something we did at church last year and I thought it'd be something to do with LP at our home this year, and actually maybe incorporate it into meal times with the whole family. Just make a paper tree or get a branch, and make paper leaves that family members write what they're thankful for.

  3. This is a great list! So many lists people make have a ton of things to do on them and I always get frustrated because we farmers usually never have the time, lol. But THIS is a great list!! Lots of easy stuff that can be done quickly! But also a few other things that are some great family bonding activities :)

    1. This is a list that I hope we can take a break for a bit and make an effort to accomplish.
